Called these people about transmission repair, said they would work with me, said I needed a transmission 6500.00 3700.00 for transmission, I didn’t have that kind of money, found a used one for 1200.00 with a 6 month gaurantee, if shipped to business, they said they are not interested, so had to have it towed again somewhere else, and I guess James wasn’t strong enough to turn the wheel without power steering so started it and pushed it out to the street laughing at the sound of the torque converter grinding on the transmission, wonderful people, not sure what 200.00 inspection they could’ve done with nothing working past the torque converter, but he did offer to buy me a beer next time I came to town, what a guy

The transmission you were offered was a quality remanufactured unit with a transferable 3 year 100k mile nationwide parts and labor warranty. As a matter of policy and based on 30 years of experience, we do not install used transmissions especially those provided by others. Once you go used, you open a potential Pandora's box of issues. Oops wrong transmission, oops doesn't shift out of second, oops a wide range of other "unforeseen" issues. Also is the used transmission supplier going to pay for the labor to replace the transmission if something is wrong with it? 95% of the suppliers will replace the transmission, but the buyer is on the hook for the additional labor; this is a fact. Then the buyer (customer) who supplied the transmission to the shop cannot come up with the additional funds to replace the "free" replacement transmission. The shop then becomes screwed due to this unforeseen situation (yes it has happened in the past). We did offer financing options which you rejected and we have no problem with that. We completely understand funds can be a limiting factor in choosing the type of repairs made. It is what it is and that is beyond our control. We sincerely hope that the used transmission serves you well. We stored your vehicle at no charge based on your statement that you would arrange towing of the vehicle. Turns out you came with a trailer and enlisted our staff to try to push it to the street. We suppose if you were not okay with James's strength, one of your employees could have steered the vehicle but you elected to start the vehicle and use the limited power to move it to the street (yes with a screeching noise from the transmission slipping). Had we been aware that there was a degree of emotionalism attached to the vehicle as you have mentioned here we certainly would have instructed our staff to be somber during the pushing the the vehicle. Our employees should not have laughed and apologize for their failure to control emotions. We will certainly convene a meeting within our organization to make certain this does not happen in the future and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. It appears the one star review was based on your decision to opt for a used transmission instead of the quality remanufactured unit we recommended; no problem with that. Why we were "punished" for recommending a quality option which we offer all of our customers, seems a bit unfair.

Took my daughters car to Sierra Service Center, told them it drained the battery over night told them i thought it was in the radio or ignition. They told me it would be two hundred for a dynostic, I few hours later they called and said they needed a second dynostic and that would be another two hundred dollars. they called later and said they believed that it was in the ignition and if not their maybe it was in the radio.... They said they could fix it for a couple more thousand dollars. I would never go back there or ever recommend them....

Not surprised at your comments. However the electrical nightmare in your 20 year old Subaru due to the recent installation of an aftermarket push button ignition system by others, for which no wiring diagram exists, caused a severe parasitic draw on the system keeping various modules from going to "sleep". This was severe to the point it actually blew fuses in our Fluke multi meter. The only way to correct the problem was to remove the aftermarket and wrongly installed ignition system and replace it with the Subaru original equipment ignition lock cylinder and switch. This process involves removing the steering column assembly and once everything is replaced, of course testing of the systems and making sure the Subaru wring diagram actually matches the final revised wiring with the new ignition switch installation. This is a significant process and cannot be short cut. The reason the radio was brought up relates to its' recent aftermarket installation. Initial testing showed it was not the source of the parasitic draw but as stated above, the entire system would need to be tested following correction of the obvious electrical drain issue of the aftermarket push button ignition system. The man hours involved in chasing down the non standard "custom" wiring issues, and eventually the parts component replacements indeed brought the total to just over two thousand dollars. We certainly understand your frustration but unfortunately the vehicle you brought in had very serious electrical issues needing correction to make it reliable transportation once again.
